If you are on a tight budget, consider silk flowers for the bridesmaids, the throw away bouquet, the bride's bouquet and even the table arrangements.

• If you are multi-talented, make the bouquets and arrangements yourself, or if you have a friend who can make them for you.

  If you prefer real flowers, check with several florists in your area. Ask friends, relatives, and co-workers for suggestions.

• Check to see if they charge a consultation fee.

  Check as far in advance as you can for the florist, especially if you are getting married at a popular time of the year. Some florists only do one wedding a day.

• Select flowers that are in season to cut down in expenses.

Church

If you are planning to get married in a church, check to see if there are any other weddings taking place that day. If so, ask the church if you could possibly contact the other parties to see if they wish to share expenses on the flowers and pew bows in the church.

• Many churches today do not allow you to throw bird seed, confetti, rice, etc. Consider using bubbles.
